FAQs
Which agents does Verne support?
Verne runs any CLI agent. It also detects many common ones by name and tracks their status. See Supported agents for the full list and the three levels of integration Verne provides.
Does Verne run on Windows or Linux?
Not yet. Verne runs on macOS today, on both Apple Silicon and Intel. Linux and Windows are on the roadmap.
If I close Verne, do my agents stop?
No. A persistent background daemon keeps your sessions running after the app closes. Closing a tab stops that agent; closing the window or quitting the app does not. See Persistent sessions for how this works.
Where does Verne store worktrees?
Worktrees go to a default location you can change in Settings › Workspace. For details on what goes where, see Workspaces & worktrees and File locations.
Does voice dictation send audio anywhere?
No. Dictation runs on-device using speech models you download in Verne. Audio never leaves your machine. See Voice setup for configuration options.
Is Verne open source?
Yes, Verne is released under GPLv3. The source is on GitHub.
